Cancellation Date: The latest date a trip participant may cancel a trip reservation with the Trip Leader and be guaranteed a full refund, less $5.00 cancellation fee. See complete refund policy on WSTC Trip sign-up form

No refunds after the cancellation date unless the reservation is taken by someone else or a refund is given by the hotel / motel / inn. 

Trip prices are in U.S. dollars (unless noted otherwise) and priced per person or on room occupancy as noted. Lodging is non-smoking, unless noted otherwise. 

Trip payment must be submitted by check payable to “WSTC”.

Ski Skills Workshop Weekend
Take advantage of early snowmaking to tune up your skills. Starting Friday evening we’ll work in the shop discussing equip-ment, cleaning and prepping our skis. We'll spend Saturday and Sunday skiing at Huron Meadows Metropark, 8765 Hammel Rd, Brighton, MI, working on diagonal, uphill, and downhill technique, plus skate 
skiing if there is interest. Not for beginners, we’ll concentrate on improving skills for the intermediate level skier.
Price $35/person covers trail, handouts and shop supplies.

Marquette New Year’s Getaway
Back to Marquette for New Year’s! We will stay in the heart of downtown, and walk to dinners and local attractions. From quiet, skier-tracked trails to the well-groomed tracks used by NMU athletes, the XC options abound: Anderson Lakes, the Noquemanon Trail, Blueberry Ridge, Cleveland Cliffs, and more. Four full days in the area will give us the chance to start the season with lots of ski choices.

REI Frosty Freestyle, Kid’s Frosty Race, Huron Meadows Invitational "Krazy Klassic"
Southeast Michigan’s big race weekend at Huron Meadows Metropark! Enter a race, participate in the family-friendly tour, or volunteer to assist with the tour or races. For schedule and registration, see nordicskiracer.com/frosty. To help with the tour contact Rita Mitchell, 734-665-0248.

Volunteers are needed to help with the races, a non-race ski tour, and learn-to-ski classes. Here's more information on the races or volunteering.

Charlevoix MLK Weekend Getaway
Ski short trails near Charlevoix and the VASA trail an hour south. We’ll stay in the Weathervane Terrace Inn on the Pine River Channel between Lake Michigan and Lake Charlevoix. We will have use of the breakfast room for evening activities. It’s a great stand-alone weekend or leave from here for Stokely.

Stokely Creek Mid-Week Ski
Four days of skiing and good food at Stokely Creek Lodge. The 120 km of ski trails offer views of lakes, streams, forest and incredible solitude. Stokely is rated one of the best ski & snowshoe destinations in North America. Participants make their own reservations. Trip coordinator will give lodging availability updates.

Petoskey Weekender
Spend a pleasant weekend in Petoskey’s historic Victorian Bayview area. Get in plenty of skiing too! We will choose from Boyne, Wildwood, Douglas Lake, or DNR/National Forest trails. Most Bayview streets will be closed and skiable, allowing you to ski to the Bayview woods! Ice skating too. If conditions are right, we can ski to downtown Petoskey.

Ogemaw Hills Weekender
Optional Extension to February 3
We will ski Ogemaw Hills Pathway in West Branch, Michigan. Groomed cross-country trails wind through approximately 15 miles of the Au Sable State Forest, providing two days of fantastic “back country” skiing. Hilly terrain – not for beginner skiers.  
Those extending their trip can ski at the many trails in the Roscommon/Grayling area or visit the Tanger Outlet mall.
Lodging Super 8 Motel, 2596 Austin's Way, West Branch, MI. A block of rooms will be reserved. Trip participants make their own reservations when ski conditions are confirmed one week ahead.
Meals Continental breakfast included. Restaurant dinners, with gourmet dinner at Willow Tree on Saturday. Bring trail lunches. Price Pay for your own lodging, meals, trail fees/donations.

February 3 - 5, 2016
Tawas Corsair Trails Mid-Week Ski
Check out the wonderful scenery of the Corsair Trails west of Tawas. There are 35 groomed miles of diverse terrain, with fun-to- ski rolling hills. To the north, we can explore the Highbanks Trail along the Au Sable River. Trail info, ski and snowshoe rentals avail- able at Nordic Sports in East Tawas. Trip ends February 5 but rooms have been blocked until the 8th as a courtesy for those who plan to attend the 66th Annual Perchville USA , Michigan’s biggest winter festival February 5–7.

Fun for Everyone Kid-Friendly Grayling Weekender
A weekend of skiing and instruction for kids, their grown-ups, and anyone else who wants to ski the many fabulous trails in the Grayling area: Hanson Hills, Hartwick Pines, Forbush Corner, North and South Higgins Lake, XC Ski Headquarters, and the backcountry Mason Tract and Wakely Lake Pathways. There’s a trail for all levels and interests! We’ve booked the entire Borchers Lodge on the Au Sable River, so have the run of the kitchen and common area.

Sleeping Bear Presidents Day Getaway & Optional Midweek Extension
We had a wonderful time last year, so we’re heading back to try other trails. There are many choices in the Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore. We may venture farther afield to Lost Lake or the Muncie Lakes Pathway. Watch the sun set over Lake Michigan two blocks from our historic hotel. Walk to restaurants.

Big M Weekender
The Big M ski area has over 30K of classic skiing, located in Manistee National Forest. If that’s not enough for two days, the North Country Trail and Lake Bluffs Bird Sanctuary are nearby. Let’s check out all the trails!

March 04 – 07, 2016
Munising Getaway with Valley Spur Taste and Glide and Grand Island Excursion
We’re heading to Munising for the annual Taste and Glide event at beautiful Valley Spur in the Hiawatha National Forest. Trail sponsors place lunch foods and desserts at various locations on the 2.8 miles “B” (beginner) trail system. Hot food and live music will be located in the Lodge. On Sunday an experienced guide will lead the 1⁄2 mile trip across the straits to the magical ice caves on the thumb of Grand Island. Recreational skis are adequate. If conditions do not allow access to the island a back county trip to the Council Lake chain of lakes is planned.
